					<description>Another way to encourage merchant acceptance of new generation payment products is to allow merchants to use hidden data in the contactless chip card, EMV card or mobile phone to improve their business activities, which I have written about ad nauseum on my blog. Merchants spend huge amounts of money on marketing promotions that are not targeted. Using some basic data within the payment card's chip can help merchants print targeted receipt promotions and get lots of value out of the payment system, which they are not getting today. Gartner calls these features Payment Information Value Added Services (PIVAS).</description>
