Management Changes at Orbograph

Orbograph, a developer of recognition solutions for the U.S. cheque processing industry and provider of solutions for business process outsourcing has announced some management changes. Orbograph’s technologies including image recognition, fraud detection, business process outsourcing and image quality assurance are used at many financial institutions across North America, processing millions of items each day.

I have studied the favourable impact of Orbograph’s recognition and outsourcing (APEX Key Pay) products to cheque processing unit costs. These types of solutions have revitalized the business case for image proof of deposit systems especially in this era of cheque image exchange. Definitely worth looking into if you are a cheque processor. From their press release, the changes at Orbograph are as follows:

Barry Cohen, President and Chief Executive Officer of Orbotech, Inc. will, in addition to his current capacity, replace Ori Sarid as Co-General Manager of Orbograph. Together with Avikam Baltsan, Orbograph’s Co-General Manager and Chief Technology Officer, Cohen will define business direction and lead the Orbograph team worldwide. At the same time, he will also assume US general managerial responsibilities in place of Uriel Ben-David, who has completed a successful three year assignment in the US.

Reporting to Cohen and filling the newly-created position of VP Marketing will be Joe J. Gregory, who, with nearly 20 years of industry experience, has been with Orbograph since 1998 and previously served as VP Strategic Sales. Andy Leonhardt, Channel Sales Executive for over seven years, has been promoted to VP Sales. Leonhardt has been instrumental in building the business partner channel and comes with 15 years experience. Peter Rooney will maintain his current position of Director of Client Services, a role he was appointed in January of 2006.
